Wichard has created a product to completely prevent the accidental opening of a carabiner - however unlikely - with this new locking safety hook. Much like a locking jacknife, you must depress the locking mechanism on the back of the hook before opening the gate. Then attach this super-carabiner to the retractable tethers described above. The result is the ultimate in tether safety.
