Description
Generally, we recommend 600' foot rodes for the Fiorentino Sea Anchor or ParaTech Sea Anchor, and 350-foot rodes for the Fiorentino Para-Ring Drogue and Galerider Drogue. Sea anchors may need up to ten times your boat length, depending on the sea state. The object in deploying your Galerider is to set it in the second sea following your vessel with enough - but not too much - stretch in the tow line. The recommended GaleRider deployment rode is a double nylon braided line. Three-strand twist nylon has greater than optimum stretch and is subject to un-laying as the GaleRider rotates while towing. The minimum recommended length is 250’ and up to 350’ may be used under some circumstances. The object is to place the GaleRider in the second sea following your vessel and to have enough, but not to much stretch in the tow line.
We are able to offer the following double nylon braid deployment rode complete with heavy duty stainless thimble spliced in and a stainless shackle.
