The Vesper Cortex-V1 VHF with SmartAIS Transponder and remote monitoring is the most intuitive and advanced VHF on the market. With the ability to add multi-station wireless touchscreen handsets, the Cortex-V1 is a great addition to any vessel, big or small. First in its class to offer a VHF radio with high speed SOTDMA (Self-Organized Time Division Multiple Access) AIS transponder technology, the V1 provides up to date information about surrounding vessels and also makes your boat visible to others. SOTDMA technology offers a 5w power output ensuring your boat stays visible over a longer distance providing faster and more frequent updates of your vessels position to other boaters, especially helpful when going speeds over 14 knots.
A robust touchscreen handset displays continuous calculations of collision risks and sends warnings with voice annunciated alerts. Initiate digital calling (DSC) between you and other vessels by simply tapping the screen on the handset while also allowing for a simplified push to talk feature to quickly hail another vessel and send distress functions that can transmit a MAYDAY signal including vessel identification, lat/lon and time in case of emergency. Pinch to zoom technology within an optically bonded gorilla glass display offers quick panning functionality, vessel selections, and quick menu changes, even with gloves on. IPX7 water ratings make this a durable device in any weather condition and against ocean sprays. Built with an 85dBA internal speaker, the Cortex H1 handset offers superior crystal-clear sound, assuring you will hear and be heard in any situation.
The Vesper Cortex M1 hub is a full Class B SOTDMA SmartAIS with an out of the box monitoring system. A built-in heading sensor is key and alerts other vessels nearby of your course of direction and helps them more accurately predict potential collisions, and also is perfect for anchor watch. An integrated no-loss splitter Call for Help with Marine Electronics allows you to share a single antenna with an existing VHF offering optimum performance for your VHF and AIS functionalities minimizing the need for multiple antennas on board. NMEA 2000 connectivity makes it easier than ever to add the Cortex-M1 SmartAIS transponder to an existing NMEA 2000 network to share numeric data from the M1 so all other NMEA components throughout the vessel benefit from the M1s fast GPS signals. This intelligent hub can see things you can’t see and is intuitive enough to let you know when your anchor is dragging, can alert you when someone falls overboard* (*MOB Device required and Sold Separately), and can notify you if something is wrong whether you are on or off the vessel.
Stay smart and connected with the Cortex Onboard and Cortex Monitor App. The Cortex Monitor app can be downloaded to a compatible smartphone or tablet and offers full monitoring capabilities when away from your Cortex V1 handset. The Cortex Onboard app uses the built-in wifi signal from the M1 hub. While not on board, monitoring your vessel has never been easier. Whether you’re home, on vacation, or anchored up enjoying some island time, the M1 hub continues to transmit vessel data through internal cell coverage, such as location, bilge pump and water level alarms, and more via the Cortex Monitor app to your smartphone or tablet. Connect up to 10 WiFi devices to the M1 hub to view and receive manage alarms, AIS information, instrument data, and more anywhere on board.
Collision avoidance, Anchor Watch, and Man Overboard (MOB) functionalities are just some of the key components that the Vesper Cortex-V1 offers. The SmartAIS combines GPS, AIS, and heading data to proactively display on your handset, smartphone, or tablet a simulated path of when and where your path would cross with another vessel. Easily set a swing radius with Anchor Watch and you will be notified immediately if your vessel exits this set radius on your handset or smartphone with a sounding alarm. If water depth, wind speed or direction changes while anchored, no problem. The Cortex system will stay alert and notify you any time of day. Compatible with all AIS MOB’s, you will see where the MOB was first initiated along with continuous updates to see location, bearing, and range. Label AIS MOB devices with specific crew names for easy identification. Once the MOB is activated a track back mode is initiated on all handsets and marks the MOB on any NMEA 2000 connected MFD’s.
