Description
In the tradition of naval design and excellence, third generation L. Francis Herreshoff built thirteen yachting cannons. Ten of these accompanied the boats he designed and built, and three were privately commissioned. In 1967 Herreshoff authorized R. Berkeley George to continue building the cannons, and to date, George has build over 400. The model ships' cannons are carefully proportioned copies of the ship's cannons used by the navies of the world. Little variation of these classic (1750-1850) cannon's proportions has taken place. Herreshoff's standards and guidelines are strictly adhered to by Berke George.
