Contains two self-adhesive pads in a hard protective cartridge.The pads are SMART because they work with the device to sense whether they have been removed from the cartridge and placed on the patient's chest. Pictures on the pads illustrate correct placement. Defibrillation pads must be replaced after each use, or once every two years. The expiration date is visible on the outside of the pad's packaging.
