R adio D irection F inder
The ACR Vecta2 (Product No. 2769.4) 121.5 MHz, RDF (Radio Direction Finder) with Test Beacon & Antenna
The essential second half of the "closed loop" man overboard recovery system, the Vecta2 is an ultra sensitive (-113 db) receiver on the 121.5 MHz frequency coupled with a highly directional mini-YAGI antenna. A sweep of the horizon allows you to measure radiated energy at every point on the compass rose. The direction producing the highest energy reading on the Macro/Zoom scale is the bearing to the EPIRB. Runs on Battery power or 12VDC or 110VAC. Includes an adaptor to connect to a remotely mounted VHF antenna for detection purposes only. Will pick up a person in distress who has activated his Mini B2 or Mini B300 or any other EPIRB transmitting on 121.5 MHz at ranges of up to 5 - 9 miles, depending upon height above water and conditions. It is portable and can be quickly disconnected from ships power for use in a rescue craft. Has a "channel 2" training frequency of 121.775 MHz. Comes with a Test Beacon and upright flotation collar that transmits on 121.775MHz. Waterproof carry case included. ACR Vecta2 Radio Direction Finder Manual (.pdf)
