Ocean Signal’s new compact rescueME EPIRB1 has been described as “the world’s most compact Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon”.
Like the popular rescueME PLB1 (personal locator beacon) the rescueME EPIRB1 is 30% smaller than comparable EPIRBs, measuring just 178mm by 89mm and weighing only 422g. It also comes complete with integrated 66-channel GPS, ensuring fast and accurate positioning information is transmitted to the authorities in the event of an emergency.
The new rescueME EPIRB1 also boasts an exceptionally a long 10-year battery life, operates in temperatures ranging from -20 degrees C to +55 degrees C and comes with a 5-year warranty. Once activated, the rescueME EPIRB1 will transmit for a minimum of 48 hours.
The new rescueME EPIRB1 features a handy space-saving retractable antenna that is easily deployed using just one hand. The EPIRB is manually activated and has a protective tab to guard against accidental activation of the operating keys. It can be mounted in its manual release bracket or placed in an emergency grab bag or liferaft.
The new Category/Class 3 rescueME EPIRB1, transmits on the COSPAS-SARSAT-monitored 406MHz satellite system and also has a 121.5MHz homing beacon and two high brightness strobes to maximise visibility in low light conditions.
