As the new director of Landfall’s Marine Training Center, Capt. Liljequist's focus is to make available courses that will improve people’s skills and hopefully ensure a safe and happy boating lifestyle.
Capt. Liljequist's love of the water began as a kid, fishing with her dad on the Mississippi and Wapsi Rivers. After relocating to New England some 25 years ago, Capt. Liljequist was introduced to the sailing life on a 17’ Cat Boat and ended with a 42’ sloop. Since then, she and her husband have embraced power boating and currently enjoy time on the water on their 34’ Down East while they await a lovely and stout Pilot House Trawler with which they are hoping to expand their cruising range and lifestyle.
Her early and unsmooth sailing experiences have run the gamut and kept Capt. Liljequist constantly problem solving including being de-masted, running aground, 15’ seas, 35+ knot winds, helping distressed vessels, enduring engine problems and being struck by lightening. Over the past 12 ½ years Capt. Liljequist has planned, provisioned and captained many bareboat charters, both monohull and catamarans, with destinations from the Abacos down to Granada, Belize, West Coast of Sweden, and recently the lovely and popular Croatia.
Capt. Liljequist is a USCG License Master Mariner, ASA Sailing instructor, and also enjoys a corporate career in IT.
