An elegant book of 299 gilt-edged pages in a soft leather binding with leather tab closure. The Leather Travel Journal features an embossed cover with eastern and western hemisphere globes adapted from a set of pen and ink drawings with watercolor of navigational and astronomical objects from the collection of Mystic Seaport Museum, CT. The end papers feature a set of four celestial maps from 1835, also in the collection of Mystic Seaport. Each page is lined in delicate sepia ink, and there is a silk-ribbon book mark. 9.75" x 6.5", leather binding.
