In 2008 a company called Shock Sailing invented a much smaller and more streamlined trapeze handle for skiff sailors. Originally made of carbon and popular with the 49er and Aussie 18 crowd, this handle was simple and unique in that it slides over the top of the standard clam cleat trapeze adjuster. With the handle and adjuster working in unison, the sailor can twist the entire lower trapeze unit allowing for more rapid and easy one handed entry. The new Clam Cleat adjuster is made using stronger and more reliable plastic at less than 1/4 of the price. It is the cheapest and best trapeze handle on the market. Packaged as a set of 2 handles.
